When you think about it, blowing all over a cake that other people are going to eat has always been kinda gross, even before the pandemic. I bought these for a friend’s birthday, and when we brought out the cake everyone clipped a candle onto their own drink and we all raised our glasses while singing Happy Birthday and then all blew them out at the same time. It felt really festive and celebratory and people remarked that they liked it even better than having the candles on the cake because everybody got to participate (while still making the birthday person feel special!). This will absolutely be our new birthday tradition!
